The 'Asymptote'!

Well well now, it has been a long time since i'v blogged but Im back now and will be more regular than before! 

This blog is about a small device called "asymptote" (named by me and my gang ;) ) which aims at managing ure "to-do" lists,reminders etc which we all are bad at; you wouldnt deny that, right? Also we as humans have 100 things going in our mind at a time and any idea can pop up at any time but clearly, we never carry the awesome pair of pen and paper to write it down and that's where this device comes inhand!

Its design will be that of a wearable stylish gadget and also serving the purpose of organising your work, meetings etc etc. You 

neednt even remove it while having shower, which makes sure that if you just remembered that its your wife's birthday, you can 

still record it while having a bath :) I dont know if such devices exist or not, but its my attempt to design one in the near future. 

So talking a little about the device, it will be wore as a chain in your neck, or as a ring ,or whichever form that suits you. The device will be made of such a material, which will be waterproof and still give that eye catchy appearance. The outer design will be customizable according to the user, from a cartoon like appearance or a crude blacky one for the professional look. It will have a voice interface which will record your voice and store it. At the end of the day, if you need to take a printout of the recordings, the device will print your 'to-do' list on a piece of paper, just like a poleroid camera. The 'record', 'stop record' and 'play' buttons will be such positioned, so that even when you are driving, you can locate them and press the required button easily. It might even have a alarm functionality wherein your 'task time' will be prompted 30 mins before or so. The device will have a usb hub to connect to your laptop/desktop/palm devices and sync it to your local applications or calendar.

It will have a voice interface which will record your voice and store it.To ensure hands free use, the device will consist of advanced voice recognition commands to allow a more lucrative usage. Like recording a birthday reminder, or an important meeting etc with customizable or a default alarm setting funtionality.  It will have the ability to convert the recorded voice into "to-do" list or play it when you need. There will be commands like, if you record, "Meeting with Ted, Priority one" , it will record it as the first thing in the "to-do" list and shuffle the list automatically.The long pauses between the speech will be automatically nullified and ensure a smooth speech.
